Acupuncture is an ancient form of healing which originated in China nearly five thousand years ago. It works by regulating the nervous, circulatory and immune systems of the body to promote the body’s healing response. Chinese medicine views pain, illness and emotional upset as a disruption of the body’s vital energy, or qi. Acupuncture helps to regulate the qi flow using needles. Regular acupuncture sessions can assist in resolving various long-standing health issues.
Acupuncture for relaxation and general well-being
By restoring the qi flow acupuncture has an effect on the entire body and patients notice improvements in their physical and emotional wellbeing. When you are balanced, you are happy and relaxed, you have the resources you need to face the world. It doesn’t take much to disturb this equilibrium. By moving your energy or qi, acupuncture brings balance back into your body and hence into your life. It can be tremendously effective and helpful in helping to overcome anxiety, fatigue, sleep problems, headaches but also relieving the symptoms of hormonal imbalances including menopause. It can help us come to terms with grief, abandonment, anger and other emotional issues. It can be of real value to those going through difficult emotional times. When the yin-yang is balanced in your body, you feel relaxed and energised.

Candlelit Acupuncture: £15 - 30 min
Acupuncture is suitable for treatment of many long standing and chronic conditions including deeper hormonal imbalances, digestive and urinary issues, respiratory, musculoskeletal conditions and more. More Chinese acupuncture points and more varied needling techniques may be used to stimulate the body's vital energy and promote the healing response. We may apply techniques such tapping and threading, used in microsystems acupuncture including auricular (ear), facial, hands, feet and scalp acupuncture. For example auricular acupuncture is very effective in treating hormonal imbalances. Another technique, dry needling, can help relieve and reduce musculoskeletal pains such as back pain, neck pain and even sciatica-related issues. This form of acupuncture relies less on the use of traditional Chinese acupuncture pints, instead it works by targeting pain trigger points, relaxing muscles and utilising a specific muscle and nerve responses to the needles. It can be very effective for various long standing and acute pains. For those in pain we will combine dry needling with Chinese acupuncture points to help speed up the recovery process. We also assist our patients with homeopathic remedies.
